Two women break into the restaurant business in 1920s Madrid.
In Seville in 1922, the Marquise Elena de Valmonte (Verónica Sánchez), a cultured woman of a privileged position, spends hours in the kitchen with the servants, pouring her energy into her great passion, cooking while she feels trapped in an unhappy marriage with Adolfo, her authoritarian husband who belittles her at the slightest opportunity and longs to lead another life. One night, after offering one of her famous dinners at her mansion, Elena and Cecilia (Raquel Querol), her faithful maid, are involved in an unfortunate incident that will change their lives forever.
Forced to flee, they arrive in Madrid and take refuge in the premises of a restaurant closed for years. After touring its kitchens, Elena decides to reopen it and turn it into one of the best in the city. In her quest to achieve her business dream, she contacts Julio (Luis Fernández), the handsome owner of the establishment, who rents her the restaurant without informing her of the small print. Determined, Elena and Cecilia set out to find the best cooks and maids in the country, choosing Ana Ferrer (Andrea Duro) as head of the dining room, Lourdes Mendieta (Maribel Salas) as a cook, and Rosa (Elena Maroto) as a pastry chef.
Excited about the new opportunity that life gives them, the five women reopen the restaurant with the name of ‘La Favorita Bistró,’ where between stews and recipes, they will provide the best of themselves, share secrets, meet love and discover that it takes much more than talent and desire to keep the restaurant afloat. Perhaps the problems are not over, but they have only just begun.
