Seven celebrity couples and one goal: to get hold of the safe. This is the mechanic of the program that Mediaset Spain released last Thursday reaching a 22.1% share. With more than 2.1 million viewers, Telecinco’s new format was the leadership in its broadcast slot, vastly surpassing its competitor.
The data of its premiere shows the good reception by the audience and adds a new success to Mediaset Spain, which for years has remained a leader in this genre.
Seven celebrity couples will be confined to one villa, although not all of them will live in the same conditions. ‘Keep the safe’ has designed a mechanic that divides the duos into ‘Residents’, who will live in their respective rooms, and ‘Assailants’, who will camp in the garden of the house. The first group will have to face daily games in order to get money to accumulate in the safe of their room. The second one will have the mission of stealing their neighbours to rob the room and, consequently, take over the loot in the safe.
Every week, the fate of two couples – one ‘Resident’ and one ‘Assailants’ – will depend on the audience. The spectators will be responsible of deciding whether the ‘Resident’ duo deserves to continue inside the house and keep the safe, or if the ‘Assailants’ couple manage to steal their rivals and take ownership of the room. In this case, there would be a change of positions and the ‘Resident’ couple would move to live in the garden with the rest of the assailants couples.
Regarding the prize, they will not fight for a fixed amount in advance. The amount will depend on the evolution of the games they face throughout the weeks. This original format will have coverage on different linear and digital television media from Mediaset Spain, once again betting on the transversal formula.
The reality will be available worldwide and will be distributed by Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group.
