Distributed by Mediterráneo Mediaset Spain Group, “The Wrong Side of The Tracks” has an artistic cast headed by Jose Coronado, including actors Luis Zahera and the new actress Nona Sobo. Telecinco has just premiered the second season after concluding with great critical and public acclaim the broadcast of the first installment.
“The Wrong Side of The Tracks” tells the story of Tirso Abantos, a lonely ex-military man with a bad temper who lives and runs a hardware store in a run-down neighborhood in the suburbs. After a family incident, Tirso finds himself in need of taking care of his granddaughter Irene, a young, adopted girl of Vietnamese origin, whom her mother is unable to control. Controversial and rebellious, the young girl does not accept the change willingly and continues to move freely in the world of neighborhood gangs that Tirso abhors. The cultural and generational clash between grandfather and granddaughter is total. Coexistence is complicated from the first moment because of their temperaments and the bad company Irene keeps, driven by the firm decision to elope with Nelson, her adored Colombian boyfriend.
Produced in collaboration with Alea Media, with executive production by Aitor Gabilondo and David Bermejo -screenwriter and creator- and Arantxa Écija on behalf of Mediaset España. The series is a portrait of a polarized society, combining drama, love, action, and touches of humor, and addresses underlying issues such as prejudice, the generation gap, the crisis of values, social changes, and intercultural coexistence.
