About ‘La Favorita 1922’
Seville, 1922. The Marquise Elena de Valmonte (Verónica Sánchez), a cultured woman of privilege, spends hours in the kitchen alongside her staff, channeling her energy into her greatest passion -cooking- while feeling trapped in an unhappy marriage. Her husband, Adolfo, is a domineering man who belittles her at every turn, and she longs for a different life. One night, after hosting one of her renowned dinner parties at her palace, Elena and her devoted maid Cecilia (Raquel Querol) become entangled in an unfortunate incident that will change their lives forever.
Forced to flee, they arrive in Madrid and take refuge in an abandoned restaurant that has been closed for years. As Elena explores the kitchen, an idea takes shape: she will reopen the establishment and turn it into one of the city’s finest restaurants. Determined to bring her vision to life, she approaches Julio (Luis Fernández), the charming owner of the property, who agrees to lease it to her without saying the whole truth about the business.
Together, Elena and Cecilia begin assembling a team, selecting some of the best cooks and maids in the country. They appoint Ana Ferrer (Andrea Duro) as head waitress, Lourdes Mendieta (Maribel Salas) as chef, and Rosa (Elena Maroto) as pastry chef. Meanwhile, Julio introduces Roberto (Joel Sánchez) as a waiter.
Full of hope for this new chapter in their lives, the five women reopen the restaurant under the name ‘La Favorita Bistró’. Between simmering stews and carefully crafted recipes, they pour their hearts into their work, forge deep friendships, experience love, and discover that it takes far more than talent and determination to keep a restaurant afloat. Because perhaps their troubles are far from over. In fact, they may have only just begun…
