Synopsis

We relive the times of the Spanish Empire and court life where it crosses its paths with the life of a common man. A dazzling look at the conspiracies and romances at the Spanish court of the outgoing Golden Age, through the eyes of the masterful swordsman and street-wise survivor Diego Alatriste and his 14-year old page, Iñigo de Balboa.

We discover the life of the streets of Madrid: raw, and dirty, a constant fight for survival or the next handout from a nobleman with half a heart. However, it is precisely in these wars that Diego Alatriste has learned his craft: surviving against all odds with the use of his wit and sword.
