Synopsis
Tells the story of Juan Carlos de Borbón, since his parents sent him to study in Madrid, with just ten years old, until he became the King of Spain and announced free elections, bringing back democracy to the country. It is also the story of two families that are actually the same family: one, the life of Don Juan that lives in exile in a decadent Estoril. The other forming Juan Carlos, Sofia and her three children, is formed to wrap Zarzuela palace.
Two feuding families by fate, as Don Juan and Juan Carlos compete, despite himself, by succeed Franco as head of state.
