The miniseries, distributed by Mediterraneo, will be the first spanish production released in Star, Disney's new brand. The new fiction will be seen not only in Europe, but also in Africa and LatAm.
‘Blowing Kisses‘ is an emotional romantic comedy that narrates eight intersecting love stories set during the confinement. Starring by Paco León (Javi) and Leonor Watling (Dr. Cabanas), the miniseries has two episodes of 80 minutes each.
During the course of these two episodes, Javi, a pleasant and complacent nursing assistant, ends up taking on a tough but beautiful hospital task: to serve as an intermediary between the patients and their families. Due to the critical situation, he decides to give the messages an emotional touch, whether romantic or funny, to try to get at least a smile. These small gestures by Javi, like those of so many other people during the pandemic, make him an unexpected hero.
On the other hand, Dr. Cabanas, energetic and with a strong character, strives every day to do her best and not give up, being aware that she is the halo of hope for many families. At the same time, she lives an introspective journey when she meets Javi. His way of being and the relationship they establish, despite Victor, her boyfriend, make the Doctor discover herself, with all her imperfections and hidden emotions.
The story of Celeste will also surprise in ‘Blowing Kisses’, a shy and intellectual young woman who lives with her grandparents, Diana and Pedro. Diana is cheerful, optimistic and generous; always looking for ways to help, she decides to create masks. While Pedro is more serious and grumpy, as well as a great lover of chess. Despite being sometimes too lonely, Diana’s hospitalization for COVID-19 will make Pedro realize how much he loves his wife. In addition, not being able to go to see her will strengthen his relationship with his granddaughter Celeste. In the same way, the confinement will make Celeste meet her neighbor from across the street, Adrian.
Love, drama, overcoming and even humor are some of the emotions and feelings that ‘Blowing Kisses’ gathers in a few of the millions of stories of conventional people who have to reconvert, rediscover themselves and recover from the adversities of an unforeseen event as serious as this pandemic.
The fiction has been produced by Mediaset España and our associate production company Alea Media, whose showrunner is Aitor Gabilondo, responsible for hits such as ‘Madres‘ or ‘Patria’.
