‘Wrong Side of The Tracks’: outstanding premiere on Telecinco

The new fiction series "The Wrong Side of The Tracks" has been successfully premiered on Telecinco's PT with 19.7% audience share and more than 2.1 million viewers. Distributed by Mediterraneo, remake and TV rights will be available in 2023.

“The Wrong Side of The Tracks”(16×70′),  consists of two closed seasons of eight episodes, is an action-crime drama that tells the story of Tirso Abantos, a man of principles who survives in his small neighborhood world surrounded by an increasingly hostile environment, whose life takes a trepid and dangerous turn when his teenage granddaughter bursts into his life.

The new Mediaset Spain production in collaboration with Alea Media is from creator Aitor Gabilondo. Also showrunner of the HBO original series “Patria”; “Mothers”, premiered exclusively on Amazon Prime Video Spain, and distributed in more than 35 territories; “Blowing Kisses”, first Spanish series premiered exclusively by Disney+ in Europe, Latin America, and Africa; and “Unauthorized living”, available on Netflix and the most successful fiction of 2018 (2.5 million viewers on average), all distributed by Mediterráneo.

Jose Coronado leads a cast that also includes Luis Zahera, new actress Nona Sobo, Felipe Londoño, Laura Ramos, Manuel Tallafé, Manolo Caro, Itziar Atienza and María de Nati make up the main cast of the new fiction

“The Wrong Side of The Tracks” is a series that realistically contextualizes the day-to-day life of a troubled neighborhood. The importance of the series lies in addressing fundamental issues such as the generation gap, the coexistence of different cultures, human values, and transitions in today’s society. The plot deals with the contrast of mentalities, not only between different cultural groups but also within the same family, which is fascinating.
